However, please ask for details and check with the accommodation you have booked prior to your departure.

 

Covid-19 Travel Advice to Dominican Republic

In this challenging time, Casa de Campo Resort&Villas is committed to providing guests with all necessary health and safety measures while ensuring an excellent holiday experience.

The Dominican Republic is open to travelers from all over the world, but many changes have taken place in order to maintain the safety and well-being of all.

To help you prepare for your next trip, we have compiled some tips on necessary documents, requirements and important local information.

Here is a summary of what you will read:

• Use mobile apps that can be used for check-in, hotel and airline reservations.

• We encourage you to travel with a portable prevention kit.

• Check personal travel insurance for COVID-19. Please remember that until March 31, 2021, the Dominican government will provide free travel and medical insurance for all tourists staying in the country.

It is not necessary to show negative COVID-19 test results at the airport, however, random tests can be conducted for free.

Free virus antigen testing will be provided to all international tourists staying in the hotel to comply with the CDC travel agreement.

The catering industry is not affected by the national curfew. However, if your flight arrives or departs between these two hours, we recommend that you book the Casa de Campo shuttle service, as they are always authorized to drive.

Necessary documents and travel requirements to Dominican Republic

Before heading to Casa de Campo, please make sure you have all your travel documents ready.

You may experience some delays when applying or renewing passports, visas or other related documents. Before arriving at the airport, please check in through the airline’s app or website, or print your itinerary and boarding pass in advance.

When packing, please don’t forget to add a portable prevention kit, which includes a disposable reusable mask, hand sanitizer, soap, wipes, tissues, gloves and a thermometer. Therefore, you can use them on the go.

If you are buying private travel insurance, be sure to check the company’s cancellation policy related to COVID-19 and other related health conditions. Please remember that upon arrival, you can choose the supplementary health insurance issued by the government of the Dominican Republic by presenting the reservation at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas or any other hotel in the country, valid until March 31, 2021.

When you fall ill due to COVID-19 during holiday, the insurance will cover the cost of emergency hospitalization, medical care, accommodation and air ticket changes. Related to COVID-19 in the past 72 hours and provide contact details for the next 30 days. There is no need to show negative COVID-19 test results at the airport, however, random tests can be conducted at no additional cost.

If your destination country requires a negative COVID-19 test, from January 26, 2021, guests of registered resorts can undergo an on-site virus antigen test. This test complies with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) travel agreement and must be administered within 72 hours before departure.

You need to arrange an appointment with our holiday planning team, preferably before arrival.

 

At the airport

All Dominican airports are enforcing the use of masks and social distancing measures to protect all passengers and employees. Also conduct temperature checks in many places. Wear a mask only when required by security or immigration officials. Even with updated signs and supervisors, be aware that queues, inspections and procedures may take longer. It is recommended that you have enough time to deal with any possible situation. Be patient and friendly with everyone, because we are all used to traveling with the new normal.

 

Notice of travel to the UK to the Dominican Republic

According to the instructions of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, “Passengers travelling from the UK to the Dominican Republic must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate not more than 72 hours before travel. Travellers who arrive in the Dominican Republic but have not obtained a negative PCR certificate will be accepted on arrival COVID-19 test and must be quarantined in a government facility for the next 7 days at your own expense. The quarantine may be extended, waiting for a negative test result. If you plan to travel or transit from the UK to the Dominican Republic, please consult your travel expert. These measures also apply to  any person who have travelled in the UK in the two weeks prior to arriving in the Dominican Republic.»

 

Curfew in The Dominican Republic

The government of the Dominican Republic will implement a curfew until March 2021, and it may be extended as part of the country’s measures to combat COVID-19. In the provinces of Santo Domingo, La Romana and La Alta Gracia (Punta Cana), the curfew applies from Monday to Friday from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and the ride is free until 10:00 PM, and from 0:00 pm to 5:00 am on Saturday and Sunday at 5:00, free transfer until 8:00 pm.

However, these times will not affect the hotel industry, so you can carry out daily activities in the resort. If your flight arrives or departs between these two hours, we strongly recommend that you book the Casa de Campo shuttle service, as they are always authorized to drive. If you are driving to and from the airport alone during the curfew, please be aware that the authorities may require you to show proof of your travel itinerary and passport and ticket.

Sanity Protocols in Casa de Campo Resort

Updated information of COVID-19, traveling to the Dominican Republic:

  • Casa de Campo® guests are now able to obtain their PCR and Antigen test directly on the resort, without having to leave the property. It is a cost of 150$ per person and appointments will be scheduled upon check-in.
  • No curfew applies in Casa de Campo, all courses and services are opened since July 2020.
